You Were Never Lost—You Simply Forgot Who You Were

  • Sherri Shaw Morgan

There comes a moment in almost every woman's life when she looks in the mirror and quietly wonders...

"Where did I go?"

She is still successful.

Still capable.

Still carrying everyone else's needs.

Still doing everything she is supposed to do.

Yet somewhere beneath the responsibilities, expectations, disappointments, and survival patterns, she no longer recognizes herself.

Most people assume this feeling means something is wrong.

I don't.

I believe it means something sacred is trying to wake up.

You Were Never Broken

One of the greatest lies our culture teaches is that we are somehow incomplete.

That we need someone else to fix us.

Another certification.

Another self-help book.

Another guru.

Another answer outside ourselves.

But what if none of that is true?

What if your wisdom never disappeared?

What if your intuition has been speaking all along?

What if your authentic self has simply been buried beneath years of conditioning?

I don't believe healing is about becoming someone new.

I believe healing is about remembering the woman you were before fear convinced you to abandon yourself.

Survival Is Not Identity

Many of us learned very young that being accepted was safer than being authentic.

We became people pleasers.

Caretakers.

Perfectionists.

Overthinkers.

We learned to stay quiet.

Stay small.

Stay agreeable.

These weren't personality traits.

They were survival strategies.

And survival strategies are brilliant.

They protected us.

But eventually the armor that once protected us becomes the cage that keeps us from living.

Nature Never Forgets

One of the reasons I spend so much time teaching through nature is because nature remembers what we have forgotten.

An oak tree doesn't question whether it deserves to grow.

A river doesn't apologize for changing direction.

The moon never worries whether it is enough when only a sliver of light is visible.

Everything in nature trusts its own rhythm.

We are the only creatures taught to distrust ourselves.

When we reconnect with the natural world, we begin remembering our own rhythm again.

Remembering Is a Sacred Act

The work of Wild Soul Rising isn't about creating a new version of yourself.

It's about peeling away everything that was never truly yours.

The fear.

The expectations.

The inherited beliefs.

The old stories.

Until what remains is the woman who has been patiently waiting beneath it all.

The woman who knows.

The woman who trusts herself.

The woman who no longer asks permission to become who she already is.

This Is Your Invitation

If you've been searching for yourself, stop looking as though you've been lost.

Instead, become curious about what you've forgotten.

Your intuition remembers.

Your body remembers.

Your soul remembers.

The journey home doesn't begin by becoming someone else.

It begins by remembering who you've been all along.

And perhaps that is the greatest act of freedom any of us will ever experience.
